Blueprints: How to Find and Use Them

Updated · Progression

Quick answer

Blueprints are what you need, alongside Research Points and materials, to unlock new turrets (and some mods and weapons) in the Research Lab. You find them at points of interest on planets: vaults opened by pulling levers or by parkour through glowing rings, crates and challenges. The Star Map shows how many blueprints each planet has and marks them once collected. Some are behind puzzles meant for groups, so solo players can miss a few.

What blueprints are for

On a Research Lab card, the purple “1 / 1” cost is the blueprint. You need it on top of Research Points and the material:

Where to find them

The Star Map tells you how many blueprints each planet has and updates when you collect them. A finished planet says All Blueprints Collected.

“0 blueprints remain”

That message means the planet is done. In the Steam thread “Can you get all blueprints?”, a player who finished the campaign three times said they had nothing left to collect but still had locked turret upgrades (MLRS, Arclight, Lancer), the sniper, and mods (Live Wire, Gravity Bomb). Another player called it an Early Access or demo limit, not a bug. Players are also asking for a respec option. We’ll update this page if Octopus Panic answers.

FAQ

Why does it say 0 blueprints remain?

You've collected every blueprint on that planet. The Star Map shows 'All Blueprints Collected' for it. To find more, go to a planet that still shows blueprints left.

Can you get every blueprint in Early Access?

Players who finished the campaign several times report running out of blueprints with some turret upgrades (MLRS, Arclight, Lancer), the sniper and mods like Live Wire and Gravity Bomb still locked. Others think that's an Early Access limit. The developer hasn't answered on Steam yet.

Can you get blueprints solo?

Yes, most of them. Players say a few puzzles are designed for groups, so a solo player may miss some blueprints on those planets.

How do you bank a blueprint?

Blueprints are physical pickups. In the co-op streams we watched, players sent them back along the pipeline to the Collector like other loot ('I'm sending a turret blueprint back in the pipeline'), so get it home before the pack wipes ⚠️.
